State-of-the-art technology enables this ergonomically improved design to replace several instruments and gauges, thereby lowering the top of the panel by three inches. As a result, the flight crew experiences increased forward visibility, as well as improved accessibility and maintainability. All control panels are made with a special area reserved for customizing. Mounted in a basic "T" arrangement, those instruments in the center of the panel are front
mounted. The glare-shield is reserved for such high priority items as: Master Caution/Warning, Engine Out, RPM, and Fire Panel. The overhead panel and pedestal retain their customary functions.
The Integrated Instrument Display System [IIDS], located in the center-right area of the center panel, provides the instrumentation which displays five pages that define flight, engine and aircraft systems. An integrated caution and warning light system is prominently displayed at the top of each screen. When a caution or warning light illuminates, it indicates when a fault occurs and alerts the flight crew to select the appropriate page for further definition of the problem. The flight crew may scroll through the pages to further define the malfunction in seconds. Control switches for scrolling the pages are conveniently located below the screen and the collective.
